Workshop for rent in Geneva - 1 Results

A workshop must be suited to your work, from the machinery to the neighbours. Before you compare listings, it’s worth taking a look at these points:

• Use: Is your activity permitted at the location? The type of use and the zoning play a role here; see Types of use for commercial property.
• Space and flooring: Machinery and materials need space and a load-bearing floor. Find out more at Floor load-bearing capacity in production halls.
• Noise and ventilation: Dust, fumes and noise also affect the neighbourhood. The article on ventilation requirements for commercial premises explains what applies to ventilation.
• Access and deliveries: Materials, tools and vehicles must be able to access the workshop easily.
• Technical requirements: Power supply for your equipment, lighting and, where necessary, water.

Not sure whether a workshop, an atelier or a studio is the right choice? The article Atelier, workshop and studio explains the differences.

The range of workshops on offer is constantly changing. If there isn’t anything suitable at the moment, you can often continue your search by making a few adjustments:

• Widen the search radius or select a neighbouring town. Further down, you’ll find links to workshops in the surrounding area.
• Be a little more flexible with the size or price. Often, the right property is just outside the filters.
• Check out related property types such as studios, production spaces or commercial premises. Depending on your line of work, one of these might be suitable.
• Check back in a few days. New listings are added all the time.

If a space is almost right, it might be worth renovating. The article on tenant fit-outs explains what to bear in mind when carrying out fit-outs as a tenant.

Get in touch even with listings that aren’t quite right. You can often discuss the space, fit-out or start date with the landlords.
